Snow calls a halt to wedding
Due to the completely un-predictable weather conditions recently a bride was left stranded at her home unable to travel to her own wedding day. The tragic story was posted on the BBC's website earlier this week and people have been stunned by the tale. The entire wedding including the photographers, wedding caterers, guests and transport all had to be called off.
This shocking story has really hit home for the couple and they have had to re-schedule the entire day. Originally, the couple had the entire wedding outside including outside caterers and a band to perform in marquee. Their plans quickly changed 10in of snow fell on their venue in the early hours of the morning. This mad rush of snow has really hit the UK hard over the past few weeks and this story is truly a special case. It is shocking to think that snow will literally call a halt the every day lives of the entire country. Traffic stops and people don’t turn up for work, it is an absolute nightmare. The couple who are from Huddersfield, UK said they were distraught and angry about how the snow had stopped their special day from happening but there is really nothing they could do about it.
Apparently, according to reports this has been the worst snow fall that the UK has seen in over twenty years. London was at an absolute stand still on Monday and Tuesday this week and over 6 million to not show up to work. Apparently, the UK lost out on £60M because of that many people not showing up to work which is just incredible to think about. Schools from around the country have been closed and offices have been snowed in and left the UK to play with their kids and have good day off. It is slightly embarrassing when you compare how we deal with snow fall and how other neighbouring countries such as Canada deal with it all the time with no hassle what so ever. We obviously still have a lot to learn.
