Farrah Fawcette: Blonde Beauty Loses Battle with Cancer

Farrah Fawcett was definitely a force to be reckoned with when she hit the scene in 1976 in the famous television show, Charlie’s Angels. She was lean and shapely with a mass of blond waves that bounced behind her. She was the sexy poster girl in the wet red swimsuit that teenage boys proudly plastered to their bedroom walls. She was the lovely older woman who proudly painted in the nude for Playboy Magazine. She was a woman who embraced her femininity, who stood up for herself and for other women, and she was a woman that believed that there was always hope. However, on Thursday, June 25th, 2009, the strong willed flame of her life was finally extinguished. Later that same day, pop icon Michael Jackson died.

What better way to celebrate the lives of such legacies like Farrah Fawcett and Michael Jackson than to play a little Farrah Fawcett trivia or Michael Jackson trivia? Find out the things that you didn’t know about the dearly departed actress. Surely, there is much more for you to learn about this angel than simply what you’ve seen on television.

Farrah Fawcett was born on the 2nd of February, 1947 in Corpus Christi, TX. Farrah’s stardom began when she attended the University of Texas and her photo was selected to appear in Cashbox Magazine. The photo was spotted by a publicist in Hollywood and she was encouraged to come to L.A.

Though her first appearances were in a wide variety of television commercials, Farrah’s face and beaming smile quickly earned her a guest spot on the popular show, I Dream of Jeannie. A short time later, Fawcett appeared in The Six Million Dollar Man with what would later be her former husband, Lee Majors.

The role that really pushed Fawcett into the spotlight, however, was that of Jill Munroe; one of the three “angels” in the hit TV show, Charlie’s Angels. At this point in her life, Farrah became known for not only her acting or her body, but also her hair. Millions of women around the world quickly adopted the bouncy layered look; hoping to gain some of the sexiness that oozed from Farrah in the process.

Farrah left Charlie’s Angels after the first year but later starred in the reality based made for TV movie, The Burning Bed as a horribly battered wife. The role landed Fawcett her very first Emmy. The actress held roles in several other movies and television shows. However, none quite captured audiences as much as this role.

In 2006, Fawcett was told that she had anal cancer. She began treatment immediately but the cancer returned and had metastasized to her liver. Though she never gave up hope, or the fight against this unyielding disease, Fawcett passed away with her close friend and long time companion by her side. She will be talked about in Farrah Fawcette trivia for years to come.
