It’s Getting Hot In Here
It’s annoying how I am left with only two choices – to line up again behind an endless number of people just for a sundae, or to settle with a soup-like one after finishing with my meal. Not only that, appearing crazy because of the frequent trips for a drink because I’m about to die of thirst, and then consequently, having to visit the bathroom countless times to relieve myself. Instead of focusing on my studies, I expend my energy fanning myself. The beaches and the malls are crowded. The refrigerator can’t make ice fast enough. Even at its coolest, the air conditioner feels like it’s not even turned on.
What is up with the world?! When I was young, I don’t remember it being this hot, stuffy or humid. It sucks, but I think I’m beginning to see (and feel!) the effects of what they call “Global Warming.”
For the unaware, Global Warming is that observed unnatural change in climate over along period of time. By unnatural, it means that people had something to do with it. I read too that industrialization is perhaps one of the most major and commonly thought of causes of global warming. Because of industrialization, what we call ‘greenhouse gases’ are generated. These greenhouse gases – (familiar if you paid attention in your Chemistry classes) carbon dioxide, methane, ozone, CFCs – retain heat in them, consequently warming up the planet. They prevent the Earth from being too cold, I guess. However, as the Spice Girls once sang, “Too much of something is bad (enough)”, and having too much of these makes everyday feel a lot warmer. These gases are produced overtime and multiply when we cut down trees and the greenery (because plants use carbon dioxide after all) or clear up forests so as to have a site where we can build malls and the like, or basically when we use energy in our everyday tasks.
This makes sense. I mean there is probably nothing in this world that doesn’t come with a price. Although I really don’t want to give up on using my nifty gadgets or riding cars, etcetera, but I guess I can be selective and moderate in what I use.
Let’s all do our parts, people. I really wouldn’t want to experience an even more maddening heat than this.

That’s right. But nobody would be blame but we human beings. We are now harvesting what we sow. Sad to say that but it is true.
