Melting Glaciers Release Toxins

It seems that the DDT the world had sprayed decades ago is now seeping out from the melting Atlantic glaciers. These frozen stocks of insecticide are claimed to be harming the penguins living in the north.

The presence of the chemicals could be a sign of the release of other ice-covered pollutants because of the climate change. Due to the global warming phenomenon, glaciers now melt quicker than they grow. Current studies are worried that the glaciers could possibly release a cocktail of chemical pollutants into the ocean, adding up the PCBs and PBDEs which are industrial chemicals that have been associated with health problems in humans.

Now, not only the penguins but also the human race is trapped by our own reckless actions. I just hope it’s still possible to reverse the situation.
